salaams. I would like some advice. I performed istikhara for a girl who I was considering for marriage. I was unsure whether she was suitable for me and was not sure whether to take it any further, or whether to start looking for other suitable girls. On the 2nd day of istikhara I had a dream where a relative was trying to show me other girls. I am not sure whether this is anything to read into. But I am still confused on the matter about whether to pursue it any further as my heart is indecisive.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is often misconstrued that after performing Istikharah one will be inspired by a dream or receive inspiration from Allah through which a person will be able to make a decision. Following this path may lead to one making the wrong decision. After making Istikhara, one should adopt a decision in accordance to whatever the heart is inclined towards.[1]
Furthermore, this dream is unclear and vague. Therefore, we advise that you continue making Istikhara until your heart is inclined to a decision. Either to marry the girl or to continue looking for a spouse.
