Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Sir i live and work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. my sponsor is Yemani Saudi………………a very greedy person.

i work for him as a secretary. in the begining he promised me that he will increase my salary as i was new in the kingdom and i didn’t the people nor the language, my boss though speak English but a not that good.

My company business is auto spare parts for Korean cars, and spring for Mercedez trucks. i have to do a lot of work plus computer maintance too, since i i know computer hardware too…. after of all of this he has to offer me only 1500 Riyal salary……….. and the ticket and other rights (he won’t give me)

on the other hand he give 5 times more salary to other people , who know nothing but they are only Yemani people from his country, the give me salary late every months, whenever i asked them to increase my salary he refused it and other hand giving a good salary then me to the drivers who are also yemani.

I cannot transfer get the transfer , he will not give me …………if by chance he gives it ………….the government have some charges for transfer 4500 Riyal, bribe the Saudi official takes, where do i get such ……… later on i found one way of getting my rights…….

since we import spare parts from Korean companies, i start taking comission from them per order, hiding it from my boss,

but recently i changed………….my self…… i’m praying 5 times, following Rasool (pbuh) i know this money is not good, i pray to Allah swt all the time to save me from the evil, but this thing kept coming to me,………..I have younger brother, a sister not yet married i’m not being given my right, and this become more………… for me when i see people who don’t know any thing never went to school getting better then me………….

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

It is indeed a trying and difficult situation you find yourself in.

Allah states in the Holy Quraan:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ

“O you who believe seek assistance through patience and prayer, indeed Allah is with the patient.”

(Surah Al Baqaraa 2:153)

The Holy Quraan advises that when faced with difficult circumstances we should practice patience and turn towards righteous actions. By means of these we will attain piety.

وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا  وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ

“And whosoever fears Allah and has piety, then Allah will make a way out for him (from difficulties) and sustain him from means that he did not perceive.”

As human beings it is part and parcel of our existence in this world that we are put to test and placed in trying circumstances

By observing patience and carrying out righteous actions insha-Allah you will overcome the difficult situations you find yourself in.

It is not permissible for you to take the commission and not inform your boss. Islaam severely discourages deception; every Muslim will be answerable on the day of judgement with regards to his actions and with regards to those things over which he was put in charge. You will be answerable for that which your boss has entrusted to you; likewise the boss will be answerable for his treatment of the people working for him.

Rasulallah(صلى الله عليه و سلم ) has stated that every human being is a Shepard over whatever has been entrusted to him, and he will be accountable for his flock.

(Sahi al Bukhaari 2:1057 Qadeemi)

And Allah knows best
