Short Make up Prayers

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Sidi Sulaiman Hart

If one has many make-up prayers to perform, can one skip the sujud al-sahw when one misses the first tashahud to expedite ones time in completing his make-ups?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The forgetfulness prostration (sujud as-sahw) is sunna (Reliance, f11.12), and omitting it does not invalidate the prayer.  So, technically, skipping it is valid, but it is not advisable, since according to some (such as the Hanafi School ), that prostration is obligatory and omitting it necessitates repeating the prayer.

And Allah knows best.
