Wudu of the one with a chronic excuse

1) For a person who has constant wind release due to illness of the stomach, you have stated he is obliged to make a new wudu for each fard prayer. But if he is combining prayers (say due to traveling) would he make a new wudu for each of the prayers he is doing? (i.e. one wudu for dhuhr and one for `asr)?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

1) Yes, in this case, the da’im al-hadath (one with chronic annulment of ablution) must make a new wudu for each prayer.

2) No. In the Shafi’I school, one in da’im al-hadath must make his wudu after the time for the fard prayer has already entered.

Also, it is important for you to remember that a person in da’im al-hadath does not make the same intention as a person who is making wudu. Since you are not actually lifting a state of ritual impurity, you must intend permission to perform the obligation of the prayer as you begin your ablution. If you do not do this, your pseudo-purification is invalid, and your prayer would be, as well.

If you make wudu immediately after the time comes in, you should still have plenty of time to join the congregation, if not the opening takbir, in sha Allah.

And Allah knows best.
