Zulfa cut and parting the hair

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question What is Zulfa cut? And is it ok to part between the hair?

Answer- ‘Zulfa’ is an Urdu word used for long hair. Long hair look beautiful and it is Sunnah to keep long hair, as the prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم used to have long hair, he only shaved at the time of haj or umrah.
From the Ahadeeth we learn that the sahabah have narrated 3 types of sizes of the blessed hair of our beloved prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم
1. Wafarah- long hair which are half way thorough the ears.
2. Limmah- those which go below the earlobes.
3. Jummah- those which go close to the Shoulders.
The Commentators of Hadeeth have said that when the prophetصلي الله عليه و سلم would cut his hair then they would be of Wafarah size. When they would grow, they would be of Limmah, and if the prophet would get too busy sometimes they would grow to Jummah, so whichever sahabi saw the prophet in which ever condition, he described that.
It has been narrated in the Hadeeth that the prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم would not part between his hair in the beginning but he parted in his hair in the latter part of his life, so parting is the last Sunnah.
