Get married though both parents disagree

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

I am in a relationship with a girl. I know it is haram but I cannot get out of it. is it possible to get married to that person even though both parents disagree with the relationship because of cultural status?

Answer

Permissibility is one thing and desirability is something else.  Sometimes a permissible thing is not desirable; your case is the same.  You should talk to your parents or try the medium of some close relatives, like mama or chacha.  Tell them to talk to the parents, and keep your conscience clear when doing something.  Use your brains, not just your desire.  May Allah help you.
