Should I Stop Reciting the Qur’an Because of my Mistakes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: I think my recitation of Qur’an is full of mistakes. I do have intention to improve this. Should I continue to recite or should I wait until it is improved?

Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

Yes, you should continue reciting the Qur’an.

We do not stop performing acts of worship out of fear of not doing them well. Rather, we keep striving for the sake of Allah, and taking sincere, consistent means to improve.

With that, consider taking the following course: Introduction to Qur’anic Recitation (Sisters)

And Allah alone gives success.
