Can I Make Dhikr (Remembrance) While Listening to Qur’an?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Question: Assalam ‘aleykum

Is it permissible when listening to the recitation of the Qur’an to make remembrance (dhikr) at the same time?

Answer: Walaikum assalam,

I hope you’re doing well, insha’Allah. The adab with Qur’an is to listen quietly and attentively.

Allah Most High says,

unnamed

“When the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and be quietly attentive, in order that you attain Mercy.” [Qur’an, 7.204]

And Allah is the giver of success and facilitation.

Wassalam,
[Shaykh] Faraz Rabbani
