Question: Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

There is a fertilizer called bonemeal. It’s essentialy crushed bones from animals used to add numerous nutrients into plants.
If one used this on vegetables they would consume would the plants become haram?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

The use of bonemeal as fertilizer would not affect the permissibility of that which grows out of the soil.

And Allah alone gives success.

wassalam,
