Can the one who did tayammum lead the one who did wudu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Sidi Salman Younas

Can the one who did tayammum lead the one who did wudu in salah? Is there a difference of opinion and which one should be followed?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

 salamu `alaykum

 I pray you are well.

Yes, one who performed tayammum can lead someone who performed ablution – in any prayer. This is the relied-upon position in the Hanafi school as mentioned in Imam Quduri’s Mukhtasar, the Bahr al Ra’iq, and by Ibn `Abidin and Tahtawi in their Hashiyas.

 And Allah Knows Best

 Wasalam
