Are fixed rate mortgages allowed in Islam?

Are fixed rate mortgages allowed in Islam?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah,

No, because conventional mortgages are clearly ribawi (usurious), and thus sternly prohibited by clear Qur’anic texts.
