Answered by Shaykh Ilyas Patel
I belong to Peshawer by Birth and my family except my parents (i.e. Grand Parents, Uncles) live in Peshawer. While my father works in Rawalpindi for the last 20 years. I was brought up in Rawalpindi. Here we have been living sometimes in government quarters and sometimes in rental houses. Now I work in a telecom company as an Engineer and posted in Faisalabad. During my work I have to go to some other cities aand some of them are more than 100 Kms away from Faisalabad. But in most cases I come back to Faisalabad in the night. I also go back to my home in Rawalpindi on weekends to see my family. My Question is how many rakat should I pray for Zuhur, Asar and Isha in the follwing cases.
1. Leaving Faisalabad on daily basis for far off cities and comming back at nights.
2. In Faisalabad
3. In rawalpindi on Weekends
4. In Peshawer If I have to go there for less than Fifteen days.
5. Should I offer Sunna Rakat during travelling or not.
I will be very thankfull if you clear my above confusions.
In the name of Allah Most Compassionate Merciful
I hope you are fine and in the best of health and iman.
A.1
If you consider
A.2. As explained in A.1.
A.3. You will perform the full prayer as you have returned back home to your permanent residence (want al-asli)
A.4. Peshawar, though is your birth place but you and your family have moved away from it completely and now it is just a place of visit. Therefore you will shorten your prayers (qasr) when you visit, if you do not stay longer than fifteen days.
A.5. If you are a traveller travelling more than 88.kms (48 Shar’i miles/54 English miles) the you don’t have to perform the sunnah prayers.
And Allah alone knows best
