Is it permissible to wear garments that are a mixture of silk and wool?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I have two shawls/scarves made of a wool/silk mix. The shawl is 80% wool/20% silk; the scarf is 75% wool/25% silk. Are these considered permissible for believing men to wear?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

In the Hanafi school, it is permitted without dislike to wear items of clothing in which there is less than 50% silk content. [Nahlawi, al-Hadhr wa’l Ibaha]

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
