Essential Prophetic Supplications: Upon entering the mosque

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Upon entering the mosque

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Essential Prophetic Supplications

Upon entering the mosque

Audio:

The Beloved of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) would say the following when entering the mosque:

Allahumma ’ftah lee abwaba rahmatik

‘O Allah, open for me the doors of Your Mercy’

(Related by Ibn Maja and others)

[a recording of this is attached]

Note that the sunna is to enter the mosque (and all noble places) with one’s right foot, and to exit with one’s left foot.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
