Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Gibril F Haddad

I have a question regarding the war in Iraq. I heard that the Iraqis beheaded an American civilian , What does the Sharia say about these certain acts?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa `alaykum as-Salam:

The Shari`a has the most humane rules of war imaginable regarding non-fighting personnel and strenuously prohibits any act of violence against their persons.
