My mother forgot to pay the credit card bill on time, and now there’s an amount of interest she has to pay. On that card I had bought many things, including Islamic books, and other stuff. Is all this stuff now haram? Must I throw it all out? What am I supposed to do about this?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

The items purchased are halal. It was sinful to delay payment: repentance would be obligatory, with its conditions. (Search for term at www.sunnipath.com.)

Wassalam,
