Is it inappropriate to have one of Allah’s 99 names as your surname or first name?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Among the ninety-nine beautiful Divine Names, neither Allah nor al-Rahman are permissible as surnames or first names for people; but Karim, Sabur, Shakur, Hamid, and others are permissible.
