End of Prayer: When to give Salams?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

In the Hanafi Madhhab, how should a follower in a congregation behind the Imam do Taslim at the end of Salah? Should he wait until the Imam has finished both Taslim (to right and left), or should he make Taslim as soon as Imam makes one salam to right?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

It is best for the follower to perform all the movements and invocations of the prayer right after the imam, according to Abu Hanifa, without delay. (One should be careful to remain behind the imam, though.) This also applies to the final salams. [Maraqi]

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
