Do I  Have to Wash Inside My Eyes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I came across a mas’ala in Taleemul Haq which mentions that the inside of the eyes MUST be washed as well at the time of wudu… what’s up with that? if a person is wearing contact lenses, does the person have to remove them?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

What it means is the side edges of the eye, between it and the top of the nose…

Tahtawi, Ibn Abidin and other mention that even in ghusl, it is not necessary or even recommended to wash inside the eyes because of the harm entailed.

Wassalam,
Faraz Rabbani
