Is it necessary to actually leave Makkah after the wajib farewell tawaaf or can one stay a night or so extra before departing to Medina or home?
Assalamu alaykum
One may stay for some time after performing the tawaf al-wida or “farewell tawaf.” However, it is desirable (mustahab) to perform the farewell tawaf just before one is leaving (Radd al-Muhtar 2:186).
