According to Shariah, it is not necessary to apply henna before the Nikah. Henna is normally applied as a means of adornment for the husband. There is no specific dress or garment that has to be worn on ones wedding occasion. It is mentioned that the Sahaabiyyaat used to borrow an outfit from the women of Medina for their wedding. However, it is important that the Shariah Laws of Hijaab be maintained. It is encouraged that the bride adorns herself for her husband. She may use the different ornaments etc. to achieve this.

All festivals besides the two feasts of Islam (I’dul Fitr & Adha) is prohibited. Therefore, mendhi party (a Hindu custom) is not allowed in Islam.

Rasullulah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa salam) has said, “Whosoever impersonates a nation (other than Islam) will be (resurrected) from them on the day of judgment”. (Sunan Abu Dawud)

And Only Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.
