What should be done if someone wins a raffle prize that was not allowed?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
Assalamu alykum,
My question is regarding taking part in raffles. If somebody takes part in a raffle draw, wins the prize and then realises it was not allowed, what should they do with the prize? Would it be sufficient to give the money spent on the raffle ticket to charity and keep the prize?
Jazakallah

Answer
Assalamu’alaikum w.w.

The prize (not the price of the raffle ticket) should
be given away to the poor without any intention of
reward.
