Non-Muslim son in-law

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible for a woman’s non-Muslim son-in-law to see her without hijaab?

Bismillaah

A: The non-Muslim cannot be a son-in-law. If he is a non-Muslim he cannot be in your daughter’s marriage. They are living in a zina relationship.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: I know that the relationship is zina, but my question was whether the non-Muslim “son-in-law” can still see his “mother-in-law” without hijab (due to hurmat-e-musaaharah, not due to the marriage being correct).

Bismillaah

A: The mother’s wrong will be compounded when she knows that they are in zina and she is still seeing him. Is this not the height of stupidity?

And Allah Ta`ala knows best
