Juggling Work and Motherhood: Navigating Financial Responsibilities as a Muslim Woman

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I have remarried and have always been the breadwinner in the home in my previous marriage as well. I am now currently pregnant and wish to just be a housewife, what can I do? My ex husband does not look after his two kids financially so therefore I also need to also work? I need advice as a muslim woman what must I do? I feel trapped in the workplace.

Bismillaah

A: There is no doubt that the workplace is definitely dangerous and destructive. Many women do home industries, like savouries, pastries, biscuits, cakes etc. and they make a business out of it.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
