Q: Can I marry a Hindu low caste girl if she on her own freewill accepts Islam?
A: The institution of nikaah has been objectively effected in Shari’ah in order to produce its desired results. Apart from nikaah serving as an avenue for one to fulfil his halaal desires, the main purpose and object of nikaah is that each spouse should be an assistant and support for the other in fulfilling the orders of Allah Ta’ala and in practising Deen. Each parent should act responsibly and fulfil the obligations and duties that have been assigned to them in the nikaah from the side of Allah Ta’ala. The offspring born from such a wedlock will have to be given the required Islamic upbringing and care that is needed and each spouse should play an important role in imbibing the correct Islamic values and creating the correct mindset within the children. If the sole intention of the girl to embrace Islam is in order to get married to you, then obviously the purpose of nikaah will not be achieved through getting married to this type of girl since she is not compatible with you in your Deen and since her aim for accepting Islam is only pleasure.
