Q: Is it permissible for the wife to wear tight fitting and revealing clothing for the husband within the home? Similarly is it permissible for the wife to expose her hair within the home? Please also explain is it permissible for women to perform Salaah in tight fitting clothing?
A: It is compulsory upon a woman to cover her entire body and hair (with the exception of her hands till her wrists and feet) before na mahrams (strange men). While being in the home at times there are other people in the home e.g. the servants or other family members with whom observing purda is compulsory. If na mahrams are present in the home, then through wearing tight fitting, revealing clothing or not covering the hair she will be exposing her satar before them. Hence this will be impermissible. If there are no na mahrams present in the home, though it will be permissible for her to dress up in this way and expose her hair for her husband, however it will be better for her to cover her hair and dress up modestly so that she is not deprived of the company of the Malaaikah. As far as performing Salaah with tight fitting and revealing clothing is concerned, if the clothing is see-through and the body beneath is exposed, then the Salaah will not be valid. If the clothing is not see-through, but it reveals the shape of the body, then though the Salaah will be valid, however to perform Salaah in such clothing is makrooh-e-tahrimi and one will be sinful.

(وعادم ساتر) لا يصف ما تحته ولا يضر التصاقه وتشكله
و في رد المحتار: قوله (لا يصف ما تحته) بأن لا يرى منه لون البشرة احترازا عن الرقيق ونحو الزجاج
قوله (ولا يضر التصاقه) أي بالألية مثلا وقوله وتشكله من عطف المسيب على السبب وعبارة شرح المنية أما لو كان غليظا لا يرى منه لون البشرة إلا أنه التصق بالعضو وتشكل بشكله فصار شكل العضو مرئيا فينبغي أن لا يمنع جواز الصلاة لحصول الستر ا هـ قال ط وانظر هل يحرم النظر إلى ذلك المتشكل مطلقا أو حيث وجدت الشهوة ا هـ قلت سنتكلم على ذلك في كتاب الحظر والذي يظهر من كلامهم هناك هو الأول (رد المحتار 1/410)
فصل (لباس المرأة عند الصلاة) : والمستحب أن تصلي المرأة في درع – قال الدرع يشبه القميص لكنه سابغ يغطي قدميها – وخمار يغطي رأسها وعنقها وجلباب تلتحف به من فوق الدرع روي ذلك عن عمر وابنه وعائشة وعبيدة السلماني و عطاء وهو قول الشافعي قال قد اتفق عامتهم على الدرع وما زاد فهو خير وأستر ولأنه إذا كان عليها جلباب فإنها تجافيه راكعة وساجدة لئلا تصفها ثيابها فتبين عجيزتها ومواضع عوراتها المغلظة (المغني لابن قدامة 1/248,بيت الأفكار الدولية)
قد روي في حديث عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم : المراة عورة رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح… وما روت أم سلمة قالت : قلت يا رسول الله أتصلي المرأة في درع وخمار ليس عليها إزار ؟ قال : نعم إذا كان سابغا يغطي ظهور قدميها رواه أبو داود (المغني لابن قدامة 1/247,بيت الأفكار الدولية)
