Parents forbidding their children from visiting their eldest son

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I had a questions about my parents threatening us that if we visit our oldest brother that they will not support us because they hate his wife. As long we live under their roof we are forbidden from visiting my brother’s house! My parents will be upset! What is the ruling on this?

Bismillaah

A: Contact him through some other way, perhaps telephonically or by email, but do not sever relationship with him and also impress upon him that you will like to come and visit but you are being forced not to visit.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
