Du’a or Azaan: Which Takes Priority?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Whilst making Du’a, a person hears the Azaan. Should he stop making Du’a and respond to the Azaan instead?

Bismillaah

A: It is better to end one’s dua and answer the Azaan. However if one continues making dua, it will be permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
