Reading the book 50 shades of grey

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible for husband and wife to read the book 50 shades of grey to spice up the bedroom life.

Bismillaah

A: A review has been done on this book and it has been proven that it has been the cause of breaking many marriages of the kuffaar (let alone Muslims). The book promotes the ways and ideologies of the kuffaar, it has been proven effective in creating total freedom among the spouses and creating a mindset of not remaining committed to the nikaah. It is impermissible for one to read such a book that promotes this type of mindset.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
