Dry blood on the head due to psoriasis

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1) If a person has severe psoriasis of the scalp that bleeds and dries up, then he makes wudhu as normal, but some dry blood remains on his scalp, would the wudhu be valid?

2) If this person touches the blood as his head is bleeding then wipes it on his kurtha by mistake, makes wudhu and performs salaah in that condition where there is some blood on his kurtha, is the salah valid?

Bismillaah

A:

1. If the blood remained upon the area of the wound (psoriasis) and had dried up within the wound and in this condition one made wudhu and performed Salaah, the Salaah will be valid.

2. If the blood on the kurta is equivalent to the amount of the circumference of one’s palm, and one performs Salaah in this state, the Salaah will not be valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
