Dividing Inheritance: 6 Siblings, 1 House, and a Million-Dollar Question

Q: We are 6 children of our parents. 5 sisters and only one brother. Father passed away long time ago. We all are married. Recently my Mother sold her house which was made by my Father its cost is 2400000 lacs. My question is how will it be divided by our family?

Bismillaah

A: If these are the only heirs, the estate will be divided into 8 equal shares and distributed as follows:

The wife will receive 1 share

The son will receive 2 shares

Each daughter will receive 1 share

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
