Facing the qibla when performing Salaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: People in London area have hired a hall for prayers. My question is: How important it’s that they should be facing Qibla while praying? If knowingly they pray not facing the Qibla for reason of convenience and make other people to pray the same way, what will be your advice? Would their prayers/ namaz will be accepted?

Bismillaah

A: Facing the qiblah is a precondition for the prayer to be valid.

The namaaz will be invalid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
