Are Video Logs and Facecams Allowed on YouTube?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I was wondering whether it is allowed to do video logs or facecams for youtube videos! Does it depend on what the video is for, is it allowed it is it forbidden?

Bismillaah

A: All animate objects are haraam and forbidden in Islam. Hence it is impermissible for one to make videos or view any videos. The Hadith explains that those involved in picture-making will be subjected to the worst forms of punishment on the day of Qiyaamat. (Bukhari 2/880, Muslim 2/201)

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

إن أشد الناس عذابا عند الله يوم القيامة المصورون (صحيح البخاري 2/880 ، صحيح لمسلم 2/201)
