Grandparents taking photos of one’s children

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Please advise me as to how one should stop his grandparents (who are constantly helping him out and who he sees at least three times a week out of necessity) from taking photographs of his child. I have been told that one is not supposed to make the islaah of one’s elders/ parents etc.

A: Explain to them gently that you have greatest love and respect for them, but this is a shar`ee requirement. Therefore, you will not entertain this just as you will not entertain wine even if it is given to you by a senior.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
