Learning the Qur’an before accepting Islam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I was hoping you could please advise me. I am not a Muslim, but Inn Shaa Allah I will revert. I do however want to learn more about Islam before making a decision. I am currently going to an Apa that is helping me with Islmaic history. Is it permissible for her to start teaching me the Quraan if I make wudhu? Can I start learning Arabic alphabets, duas and surahs?

A: You should accept Islam first and then the apa should teach the Qur’aan.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
