Consuming dates from Iran

Q: We are urged not to support the beliefs and the ways of the Shi’ites for several reasons. Many of the dates for consumption in South Africa are
produced in Iran. Can we eat these dates?

A: Yes. Just as we regard it permissible to consume the fruits that are sold by non-Muslims, similarly it is permissible to consume the dates that are sold by Shias.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
