Delivering a sermon in front of males and females

Q: Can you please explain to me the ruling of Muslim male scholars/speakers delivering talks or teaching lessons where there is a mixed audience and there is segregation between them. However the speakers/scholars sit in such a way where they can see both male and female audience members?

A: Islam instructs that there should be segregation between the males and the females in such a manner that the males are unable to see the females and vice versa. In the situation mentioned, since the speaker will be able to see the female audience and they will be able to see the speaker while delivering the sermon, it will not be permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
