Listening to “Mustafa Jaanay Rehmat…”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible for us to listen to Mustafa Jaanay Rehmat Pay Lakho and Ya Nabi Salam Alayka? Please advise me. Some people say it’s bidah but I also know that it’s usually read after Eid salaah and sometimes Jummah Salaah at some mosques. What is the correct stance on this matter?

A: It is more virtuous to recite the Qur’aan Shareef. Generally, people who get into listening to nazams etc. they thereafter forget to recite the Qur’aan Shareef and leave out reciting durood shareef and kalimah. Hence recite more durood shareef and kalimah and be constant on the recitation of the Qur’aan Shareef.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
