A: It is makrooh unless one has an excuse.

Q: Many brothers and sisters wake up for Tahajjud at around 03.30 hours in the morning and stay awake well after they complete their Tahajjud Salaah, by Reciting Qur’an and indulging in Dhikr till Subah Saadiq and complete their Fajr Salaah. The time elapsed between start of their Tahajjud Salaah and completion of their Fajr Salaah is around 2 hours. If they are all employed, they have to have some sleep after Fajr. This will be their daily schedule. In this scenario, will ‘Sleeping after Fajr’ be considered as Makrooh?

A: Under the circumstances, it is permissible. However during holidays or weekends when they have more time during the day, it is better for them to rest at other times and to engage in zikr and tilaawat after fajr.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
