Nabi vs. Rasool: Roles, Responsibilities, and Duties

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What are the differences between a Nabi and a Rasool in terms of roles, responsibilities and duties?

A: Both the nabi and rasool are recipients of wahi. Generally, the word rasool is used for that nabi who comes with an independent or a new code of shariah and a newly revealed book.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
