Being involved with a non-Muslim

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am in quite a problem. I don’t know how to put this but anyway I met this guy he is not muslim and I don’t know what got in to me, but I dated him and things have gotten serious between us. I know its wrong for me to be dating and a non muslim too! But every time I try and stop our relationship, we always getting back together and he just won’t let go. I don’t know what to do anymore. My parents don’t like him for me but my mother does like him but she tells me that she will never stand for it, she don’t want a non muslim for me and even if he converts she won’t accept it!

A: This relationship is haraam, disgusting and a curse. The only way to save yourself from this curse is to break up totally, no matter how difficult it may seem to be. If not, you will be perpetually under divine wrath, curse and misfortune.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
