Marrying the Ahle Kitaab

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Are the Jews and Christian of today still considered to be Ahle Kitaab. Especially the Christians, can one get married to them even though they do not accept Islam on the basis that they are Ahle Kitaab?

A: The kitaabis of this day are generally kitaabis by name only. They do not believe in their scriptures.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
