Do You Need to Recite Surah Fatihah When Praying Behind an Imam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: When reading fardh salaah behind an Imam, does one have to read surah fatihah even if the Imam is reading surah fatihah?

A: No. According to the Hanafi Mazhab, one should remain silent behind the imaam in all salaah (whether jahri salaah or sirri salaah).

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
