Playing a game in which statements of kufr are made

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a person plays a game in which statements of kufr and shirk are said at the achievment of a goal or a certain action (by the gaming instruments), does this take him out of the fold of Islam? If he is married, should he redo his nikah?

A:

  1. Yes, if in any way he shows or displays agreement to disbelief even though he rejects it mentally.
  2. Yes.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
