Q: I need assistance with naming our daughter, please can you assist with proper meanings and spellings of the following names and which would be most suitable:

AAIRA

AMAANI

ASMAA

AMELIA

HANNAH

MAAHIRA

MAARIYA

AMELIA is currently our 1st choice , is the spelling correct as well?

A: The following are some of the names we could locate:

Amaani – hopes

Asmaa – name of the daughter of Hadhrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu anhu)

Hannah – compassion

Maahirah – expert

Maariyah – she was the slave-woman of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
