Shaving the underarms

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the Islamic ruling regarding removing unwanted hair? What is the maximum period a person is allowed not to shave?

bismillah.jpg

A: It is preferable to remove unwanted hair (i.e. pubic hair as well as hair under the armpits) once a week (preferably on the day of Jumu’ah before the Jumu’ah salaah). To delay till two weeks is permissible. It is makrooh tahreemi for one to delay more than 40 days and thus one will be sinful.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
