Expressing one’s problems and feelings to someone who can assist one

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wanted to ask an important question on the topic of ghibat (backbiting) for I tend to become confused at times. Is it Haraam if you
are listening to someone’s desperate problems and discussing it as a group in that case? And that person is being oppressed by others and needs immediate support by his/her friends?

A: It is permissible for the oppressed to express his feelings to someone who can support him or bring some form of relief to him.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
