Washing one’s hands before placing them in a bucket of water

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If ghusl becomes obligatory and one takes ghusl from a bucket of water, will the water become mustamal even if hands are washed before putting it into the bucket? I have read that the water becomes mustamal only when the hands are not washed before putting it into the bucket.

A: The water will not become musta’mal by placing the hands into the bucket if she washed them thoroughly before putting them in.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
