Q: Does swearing using a hand gesture count as swearing?

A: Though in most cases it is not as evil and severe, but it is also evil and sinful.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

عن أبي الدرداء أن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم قال ما شيء أثقل من ميزان المؤمن يوم القيامة من خلق حسن وأن الله ليبغض الفاحش البذيء (جامع الترمذي # 2002)
