Reciting Qur’an on a laptop or ipad

Q:

  1. Is it permissible for someone travelling short distances, such as in a  bus or a train, to read Quran on a laptop or ipad without making Wudhu?
  2. When is it not permissible to not recite the Quran even from memory, if under any circumstances?

A:

  1. Yes, provided he does not touch the words of the Qur’an which appear on the screen.
  2. If a person is in the state of Janaabat, or a woman is in the state of haidh or nifaas then it is not permissible for them to recite the Qur’an.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
